Superintendent - Commercial Construction

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on commercial construction projects across the Knoxville region. This position is ideal for a hands‑on, detail‑oriented builder who excels at coordinating subcontractors, managing jobsite logistics, and delivering high‑quality work safely and efficiently.

Description

• Lead all on‑site construction activities from groundbreaking through closeout.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and field teams.
• Maintain strict safety standards and enforce OSHA compliance.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure accurate field installation.
• Manage jobsite scheduling, phasing, manpower, and daily work planning.
• Oversee materials deliveries, site logistics, and equipment coordination.
• Communicate regularly with the Project Manager regarding progress, issues, and upcoming needs.
• Maintain detailed daily reports, conduct site meetings, and ensure quality standards are met.
• Support punch lists, turnover procedures, and project closeout documentation.

Profile

• Demonstrated experience as a Superintendent on commercial construction projects.
• Background working in sectors such as education, retail, restaurant, office, or institutional construction.
• Strong skills in field coordination, logistics planning, and subcontractor supervision.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and project documents.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to build trust with field teams and project stakeholders.
• A proactive mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining safe, organized jobsites.
• Familiarity with Knoxville‑area subcontractors (preferred).
