Legal Director
The Legal Director will provide expert legal, compliance and regulatory guidance within the lending sector, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk. This role is vital in supporting asset management and investment operations through sound legal advice and strategic counsel.

Description
The Legal Director is responsible for:
- First in-house legal hire for the organization, developing the strategy for the legal and compliance function, growing the team and providing legal counsel to the c-suite, senior leadership team and asset management division.
- Provide legal guidance on CMBS transactions and contracts.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations within the banking and financial services sector.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Collaborate with internal teams to manage legal risks and resolve disputes.
- Monitor and implement changes in laws and regulations affecting the property industry.
- Advise on risk management strategies to protect the organization's interests.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance and legal matters.

Profile
The successful Legal Director should have:
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in the state of Texas or eligibility to practice law in Dallas.
- Strong knowledge of CMBS, lending and financial services regulations.
- Exceptional contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Ability to analyze complex legal and regulatory issues effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with various teams.
- Excellent attention to detail in a fast paced, busy commercial transaction environment.
- Must be based/ able to relocate to Dallas, with current/ indefinite work authorization.
