Construction Estimator

The Construction Estimator will prepare bids and estimates for commercial construction projects ranging from $2M to $50M, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires expertise in estimating, hard bid and design/build processes, with ground-up experience considered a plus.

Description

Construction Estimator - New London, CT

    • 5-10+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating
    • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing
    • Experience with estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Sage Estimating, or similar)
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
    • Proven ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines
    • General knowledge of Building and Construction codes

Profile

A successful Construction Estimator should have:

  • Proficiency in commercial construction Estimating, including estimating and hard bid processes.
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate cost estimates
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for labor, materials, and equipment
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids
  • Experience with design/build projects and familiarity with ground-up construction.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills to effectively manage teams and resources.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
