Description

The Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for:

• Support the Superintendent in managing day-to-day field operations on active healthcare construction projects
• Ensure strict compliance with infection control protocols (ICRA), interim life safety measures (ILSM), and hospital access procedures
• Coordinate daily activities of subcontractors and verify work is performed according to plans, specifications, and healthcare standards
• Assist with developing and maintaining short-interval and look-ahead schedules
• Monitor jobsite cleanliness, organization, and safety, ensuring adherence to OSHA standards and project-specific safety requirements
• Conduct and document daily field reports, inspections, and progress updates
• Support implementation of QA/QC practices, including mockups, testing, and punch list tracking
• Communicate effectively with hospital staff, project managers, inspectors, and subcontractors to minimize disruption to patient care
• Assist with material tracking, delivery coordination, and verifying quantities on site
• Help review RFIs, submittals, and field changes as needed
• Participate in site logistics planning, phasing coordination, and shutdown planning for critical systems
• Monitor and enforce site access control, including badging, PPE, and infection control barriers
• Support closeout efforts including commissioning, as-built documentation, and final inspections

Profile

The successful Assistant Superintendent will have:

• 1+ years of healthcare Construction experience.
• Working knowledge of construction technology and details.
• Construction Management degree or its equivilant in experince.
• Candidate must be extremely proficient reviewing and understanding all construction documents including specifications and drawings.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with various parties including management, subcontractors, consultants, architects, vendors and clients.
• Working knowledge of skilled trades including carpentry, masonry, concrete work, site excavation and grading, plumbing, fire protection, HVAC and electrical.
