Estimator - #1 GC in Rhode Island
The Estimator will play a pivotal role in overseeing cost estimation and budget planning for construction projects within the business services sector. This position is based in Boston and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects with a leading general contractor.

Description
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Collaborate with project managers and architects to ensure accurate project budgeting.
- Analyze project plans and specifications to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Provide regular updates on project estimates and budgets to stakeholders.
- Monitor market trends to ensure competitive pricing strategies.
- Assist in bid preparation and negotiation processes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and company policies.

Profile
A successful Estimator should have:
- 5+ years' experience with construction estimating at a general contractor
- Demonstrated experience in generating cost needs based on project plans + specifications.
- Knowledge of construction industry costs and the ability to negotiate effectively.
- Expert knowledge in reading plans and specifications.
- Proficiency in data analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Estimating software (BuildingConnected or similar)
- Familiarity with local subcontractor and supplier marketplace strongly preferred.
- A strong understanding of construction processes and cost estimation methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as estimating software and Excel.
- Outstanding communication and organizational abilities.
- A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
