Assistant Project Manager
The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager and construction team throughout the full lifecycle of assigned projects-pre-construction, execution, close-out-ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, on budget, and to the company's standard of quality. This role blends field coordination, administrative oversight, financial tracking, and team collaboration.

My client is a full service Construction Management firm specializing in a range of market sectors, including multifamily, retail, healthcare, higher education, and tenant interiors. They have been in business for over 50 years and has successfully completing a number of projects for repeat customers throughout PA, NJ, and DE.
Description
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, and coordination of subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Support review of contract documents, submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and change orders.
- Help monitor project budgets, cost reports, and schedule tracking to ensure financial and timeline targets are met.
- Attend and take part in site meetings, progress meetings, and field walk-downs; document meeting minutes and action items.
- Coordinate procurement of materials and equipment; track delivery schedules and logistical needs.
- Assist in quality control and safety oversight, ensuring that field operations comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate effective communication between owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and Berks Ridge's internal team, reflecting the firm's relationship-first culture.
- Support project close-out activities-ensuring punch-list completion, warranty documentation, final invoicing, subcontractor releases, and project hand-over.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and filing systems (digital and physical) including schedules, logs, correspondence, and change order history.
- Proactively identify project risks or issues and escalate appropriately, collaborating to develop remediation plans.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-5 years of experience in construction management, project coordination, or similar role-preferably in commercial or institutional construction.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, budgeting, contracts, and field operations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfortable learning project management software.
- Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to track multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact professionally with clients, subcontractors, and internal team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to change, and maintain positive relationships in line with Berks Ridge's values of integrity, respect, and teamwork.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, as travel to job sites in the region will be required.
- Preferred: Some experience in value‐engineering, change management, scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), and familiarity with construction accounting practices.
