Senior Director of EHS
This role is responsible for developing and executing strategies that reduce risk, prevent injury, and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.

My client is New York based foodservice company.
Description
* Lead company-wide safety culture initiatives to drive accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
* Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, DOT, EPA) and company EHS policies.
* Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive EHS programs and procedures across all departments.
* Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to ensure regulatory compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
* Oversee design, delivery, and tracking of all safety and certification training for employees, contractors, and management.
* Lead investigations into accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
* Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, auditors, and safety vendors.
* Coach, mentor, and manage the EHS team-including the EHS Manager, Occupational Health Supervisor, and Safety Specialist-to ensure development and high performance.
* Establish and monitor safety performance metrics to track progress and influence strategic decisions.

Profile
* Bachelor's degree (required) or Master's degree (preferred) in Occupational or Environmental Health and Safety or related field.
* 10+ years of progressive Safety/EHS experience, ideally in a food manufacturing or plant environment.
* Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Hazard Control Manager (CHCM).
* Strong knowledge of OSHA 30 (General Industry), DOT, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
* Proven experience designing and leading safety programs and training initiatives.
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence at all organizational levels.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook).
* Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
