A highly respected and award-winning General Contractor in the Rhode Island area is seeking a Commercial Estimator with a strong background in construction estimating and project planning. Headquartered in Rhode Island, the firm operates across Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, delivering high-quality construction services in commercial, healthcare, academic, biotech, manufacturing, and luxury residential sectors.
Description
The Estimator will be responsible for:
Estimate Development & Job Costing
- Analyze project plans, drawings, and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, and timelines.
- Calculate job costs and assess workforce needs based on availability and cost trends.
- Monitor workload and communicate progress to senior leadership.
Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination
- Manage the bid process: distribute project documentation and gather competitive subcontractor/vendor pricing.
- Maintain and analyze RFI logs and responses for accurate scope evaluation.
- Perform bid leveling to identify gaps and discrepancies across proposals.
- Negotiate pricing and resolve scope or scheduling questions with subcontractors/vendors.
Schedule & Planning Collaboration
- Work with project teams to establish preliminary construction schedules.
- Ensure that subcontractor scopes align with the overall project strategy and client expectations.
Market Relationships
- Build and maintain relationships with key subcontractors and vendors in the local market to ensure project resource availability.
- Help maintain a strong network aligned with the company's reputation for excellence and reliability.

Job Offer
The Estimator will receive:
- Competitive base salary up to $140k
