Estimator

A Commercial Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates on ground-up and tenant improvement projects by analyzing plans, specifications, and subcontractor pricing. This role plays a critical part in winning work by developing competitive bids, managing budgets, and collaborating closely with project teams and clients.

Description

Responsibilities of a Construction Estimator are:

• Prepare estimates and proposals for conceptual projects
• Complete assigned project estimates on established deadlines and priorities.
• Prepare clear and effective proposals for review by the Lead Estimator for assigned projects according to standard processes.
• Assist in performing value engineering of new or alternate materials, means and methods of construction.
• Assist in soliciting or qualifying and qualify proposals from suppliers and/or subcontractors; participate in the procurement process, as directed
• Provide estimating assistance with Change Orders, as required.

Profile

The Construction Estimator must have the following:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related field
2. Preferred 2-5 year's experience estimating commercial ground up and tenant improvement projects in the construction industry.
3. Well developed analytic and conceptual skills. Ability to read and interpret drawings, including schematic and conceptual formats. Knowledge of construction materials, means and methods. Attention to detail.
4. Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with Bluebeam, Quick-bid and OST software preferred.
