We are currently partnered up with an Automotive Manufacturing Company in their search to add a Quality Engineer to the team due to growth. This position will report up into the Quality Manager and will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality systems, driving root cause analysis, and ensuring compliance with automotive industry standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, etc.). Description
The Automotive Quality Engineer - Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards and procedures in alignment with automotive requirements.
- Support production teams in resolving quality issues and improving manufacturing processes.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions (8D, 5-Why, FMEA, etc.).
- Conduct internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Manage PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), and control plans for new and existing programs.
- Monitor key quality metrics (scrap, rework, customer returns) and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with customers to address quality concerns, manage complaints, and ensure corrective action closure.
- Train operators and staff on quality standards, tools, and best practices.
- Support compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Profile
The ideal Automotive Quality Engineer - Manufacturing will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of quality engineering experience in automotive manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of automotive quality systems (IATF 16949, ISO 9001) and tools (FMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC).
- Hands-on experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer and supplier interactions.
- Proficiency with quality software, statistical analysis tools, and MS Office Suite.
- Green Belt certification (preferred).
Job Offer
The successful Automotive Quality Engineer - Manufacturing will be rewarded with the following:
- Base Salary of $70,000-90,000 depending on experience
