Project Engineer | Rockford
The Project Engineer will oversee engineering projects from planning through completion, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule compliance while serving as the main point of contact for clients. This position involves coordinating design teams, mentoring engineers, and driving technical solutions in a fast-growing manufacturing environment. Client Details

They provide full turnkey services-from engineering and fabrication to installation and testing-and have expanded significantly in recent years, now operating as a $300M company with a strong reputation for stability and innovation.
Description
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and manage assigned engineering projects and customer groups.
- Serve as the primary client liaison, interpreting needs and representing them throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee quality control for budget, schedule, plans, and team performance; report regularly on project status.
- Assign responsibilities and mentor design engineers, providing technical guidance and oversight.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure technical support and timely delivery.
- Manage pre-release activities, including component selection for long-lead items.
- Review engineering deliverables and initiate corrective actions as needed.
Profile
- 1-3 years of project engineering experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Comfortable interacting with clients and serving as the primary point of contact.
- Ability to mentor and guide design engineers on technical projects.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Engineering degree preferred but not required.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of driving projects forward in a fast-paced setting.
Job Offer
- Salary $80,000- $100,000 Based on experience
- Bonus: Discretionary annual bonus
- Benefits: Medical, dental, vision coverage, 401(k) with company match, PTO (2 weeks vacation + 5 days PTO)
