Associate, Consumer Credit Risk
The Consumer Credit Risk Associate will be responsible for evaluating consumer credit portfolios to effectively manage risk. .

Description
A major financial institution is seeking a credit risk professional to support its independent review function for consumer and small business lending. This role involves conducting data-driven assessments of credit decisioning, policy adherence, and portfolio-level risk trends. The position sits within a governance-focused team responsible for evaluating credit practices across the full lifecycle-from origination through account management-using structured analytics and regulatory-aligned methodologies.
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform targeted reviews of credit decisions and evaluate alignment with internal policies and risk controls
- Analyze performance data to identify emerging risk patterns and credit inconsistencies
- Document findings in structured workpapers with clear rationale and supporting evidence
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support sampling, portfolio monitoring, and thematic analysis
- Apply tools such as SQL, Python, or equivalent platforms to extract and analyze large datasets
- Contribute to the development of reporting materials, dashboards, and governance documentation
- Support ongoing refinement of review frameworks, templates, and procedural standards
Profile
- Minimum 3 years of experience in consumer credit risk, credit review, or data analytics
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, statistics, or a related discipline
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, or similar tools for data manipulation and analysis
- Familiarity with consumer credit products and lifecycle risk management
- Strong analytical, documentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a quantitative or financial discipline
