Manufacturing Engineer ll - Claremont, NH
Joining the Engineering team, the Manufacturing Engineer II will be responsible for interfacing with the NPI design team and the manufacturing team to ensure products are manufacturable and help develop and optimize manufacturing processes within a production environment, ensuring efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement across operations.

Description
The Manufacturing Engineer II will:
- Manage small projects or multiple tasks within the engineering function, contributing meaningfully through applied technical expertise.
- Work under moderate guidance on short‑term objectives while collaborating closely with leaders and production teams.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain clear, professional communication with leadership, peers, and operations staff.
- Demonstrate strong foundational knowledge in mechanical and electromechanical engineering, with ongoing development of specialized skills.
- Collaborate effectively with both engineering and production teams to ensure smooth process execution.
- Assess mechanical and electromechanical systems by designing experiments and applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, materials science, and related disciplines.
- Validate system and product performance through feasibility studies, testing methods, and property evaluations.
- Develop new products and improve existing ones by interpreting customer requirements and researching manufacturing and assembly methods.
- Design and refine manufacturing processes, including equipment, tooling, and workflows for fabrication, assembly, and installation.
- Provide training and continuous support related to manufacturing systems and processes.
- Serve as a manufacturing representative to the product design team, offering feedback to enhance manufacturability and support DFMA best practices.
- Act as a liaison between design engineering and production teams to facilitate effective, two‑way communication.
- Contribute to design decision‑making by offering insights on labor costs, capital needs, and process feasibility through research and vendor consultation.

Profile
A successful Manufacturing Engineer II should have the following qualifications:
- Preferred but not required: Experience with SolidWorks; manual/CNC 3‑axis milling; manual/CNC lathe operation; sheet metal design and fabrication; MIG/TIG welding.
- Technical experience with both design and manufacturing engineering
- Strong communication skills and experience working cross functionally with NPI, Design, Production, Engineering, etc.
- Experience working hands-on in a manufacturing floor
