AVP, QA Transaction Monitoring
Join a top global japanese banking firm to play a key role in their global financial crimes business.
Client Details
Client is one of the largest global japanese banking firms.
Description
Execute and document QA reviews of AML Transaction Monitoring, KYC, and Sanctions cases to assess control effectiveness and evaluate case quality, accuracy, and decision-making.
Communicate QA results to stakeholders and management, and track the remediation or corrective actions for any issues identified.
Continuously review and update QA-related policies, procedures, controls, and systems in response to regulatory changes, emerging risks, and industry best practices.
Assist in the design and maintenance of trackers and reporting tools to support effective oversight and deliver meaningful QA metrics.
Support the development and publication of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to monitor program performance and risk exposure.
Contribute to the creation and delivery of 'Lessons Learned' training sessions, based on QA findings and thematic issues.
Collect, analyze, and interpret QA results to identify trends and patterns, and support the creation of trend analysis reports to inform continuous improvement.
Assist with the collection and preparation of documentation for internal and external examinations, audits, or remediation initiatives.
Profile
Minimum of 5+ years of specialized experience in Financial Crimes Compliance or a related function within a large, globally diversified financial services institution.
Demonstrated experience in BSA/AML transaction monitoring, with working knowledge of AML risk assessments, as well as customer/account risk modeling, scoring, and profiling.
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Finance, Law, Criminal Justice, or a related discipline.
CAMS certification strongly preferred; other relevant compliance or risk certifications a plus.
In-depth understanding of U.S. financial crime regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC sanctions programs.
Comprehensive knowledge of Know Your Customer (KYC), AML transaction monitoring, and sanctions screening processes, including related regulatory expectations and risk management practices.
Proven ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and apply them effectively within operational frameworks.
Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to synthesize and present complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
