My client is a reputable general contractor seeking a seasoned Project Manager to oversee public sector construction projects in Queens, NY. The role involves managing all phases of municipal and agency-driven work, ensuring compliance, schedule, and budget alignment from start to finish.

My client is a reputable General Contractor with a strong track record of delivering public sector projects across New York City. With a focus on municipal, educational, and infrastructure work, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead construction efforts in Queens. This role is ideal for someone who understands the complexities of public work and thrives in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.
Description
- Manage all phases of public construction projects from pre-construction through closeout
- Coordinate with city agencies, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
- Ensure compliance with contract documents, prevailing wage requirements, and safety regulations
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation
- Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to stakeholders
- Oversee procurement, change orders, and cost control
- Resolve field issues and ensure timely project delivery
Profile
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing public construction projects in NYC
- Strong knowledge of NYC agency protocols (DDC, SCA, DASNY, etc.)
- Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and trades
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project)
- OSHA 30 certification required
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
