Traveling Superintendent - big box and commercial construction
Lead the field execution of large, ground-up big-box retail projects across the Southeast for one of the nation's most trusted retail builders.
This role is ideal for a Superintendent with Walmart or national retail experience who thrives in fast-paced environments and is looking for strong compensation, stability, and long-term growth.

Our client is a nationally recognized general contractor specializing in large-scale, ground-up big-box retail and commercial construction. With long-standing relationships with major national brands, they offer a steady backlog, repeat work, and a proven track record of retaining high-performing field leaders.
Description
Lead day-to-day field operations on ground-up big-box retail projects ($10M-$80M+)
Oversee subcontractors, self-performed work, and site logistics across all phases
Enforce safety standards and maintain a high-quality jobsite environment
Coordinate schedules, inspections, and deliveries to maintain aggressive timelines
Work closely with project management teams to track progress and resolve issues
Serve as the on-site point of contact for ownership and national retail clients
Maintain site documentation, daily reports, photos, and punch lists
Drive project closeout, turnover, and warranty coordination
Profile
8+ years of experience as a Superintendent with a commercial or retail GC
Proven experience on Walmart, Sam's Club, or other national big-box projects (strongly preferred)
Ground-up commercial construction background required
Strong tenure and history with reputable contractors
Comfortable traveling across the Southeast and relocating for projects as needed
Proficient with construction technology and reporting tools
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Job Offer
Base salary: $120K-$170K (dependent on experience)
Year-end bonus up to 25% based on performance
