Description

Join the Bank's Credit Review team, operating independently as the third line of defense to provide objective assessments and ensure accurate credit ratings, policy compliance, and effective credit risk management. We are seeking a self-motivated individual with a strong background in credit analysis for large corporate borrowers across diverse industries. As a key member of the team, you will report to the Head of Credit Review and assist in executing the annual review plan by leading target reviews, conducting risk assessments, and providing coaching and development to team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate lending transactions and assess compliance with risk ratings, policies, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements in coordination with Americas Corporate Banking Department, Risk Management, and Credit Department.
  • Support data integrity coordination for portfolio review sampling and reporting.
  • Provide objective assessments of assigned sectors in the loan portfolio, identifying emerging risks and ensuring effective risk management.
  • Analyze borrower financial performance by assessing financial statements, credit risk metrics, and projections.
  • Coordinate credit risk assessments and monitor designated portfolio sectors, ensuring alignment with the bank's risk appetite.
  • Collaborate with Americas Corporate Banking Department and Credit Department, offering insights and advisory support on risk identification and credit risk management processes.
  • Incorporate the bank's risk appetite and risk culture into day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Assist in planning and executing the Annual Plan, including financial and regulatory reporting and meeting compliance requirements.
  • Conduct individual credit reviews, document findings, track issues to resolution, and provide necessary support.
  • Manage assigned team members and contribute to the day-to-day administration of Credit Review.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of lending policies, credit ratings, and problem loan monitoring procedures, recommending enhancements when needed.
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects to support the overall function of Credit Review.
  • Stay updated on the bank's compliance rules and regulations, aligning with the directives of Americas Legal & Compliance Department and adhering to the bank's Code of Conduct.

Profile

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in corporate banking, preferably with an advanced business degree or CFA.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in credit risk management, including formal credit training (bank, rating agency, regulatory agency, consulting, etc.).
  • Proficiency in applying credit risk management standards, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of the U.S. regulatory environment and emerging risks.
  • Strong understanding of Leverage Lending and securitizations is highly beneficial.
  • Excellent project management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and ability to adapt to proprietary systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of expressing well-supported credit review opinions, including dissenting views when necessary.
  • Collaborative approach to working with the Credit Review team, as well as with colleagues in Americas Corporate Banking Department and Credit Department.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and handle a diverse workload with minimal senior management oversight.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a dedicated work ethic, and self-motivation.
  • Ability to work independently, take accountability, and demonstrate initiative.

Job Offer

$150,000 to $240,000 on the base.
