Estimator

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for luxury residential interior renovation projects. In addition to traditional estimating responsibilities, this individual will occasionally interface directly with prospective clients, architects, and designers-supporting the firm's business development efforts with professionalism and confidence.

My client is a strong boutique general contracting firm specializing in high-end residential interior renovations in Manhattan who directly competes with top competitors in this Niche. They are looking for an Estimator. Their projects (Townhomes, Brownstones, and Apartments gut renovations) reflect the highest standards of craftsmanship, design collaboration, and client service. They partner with renowned architects, designers, and discerning homeowners to bring elegant spaces to life-on time and within budget.

Description

As a Estimator, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and bid packages for high-end residential interior projects

  • Experience in the Building and Construction industry
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather accurate pricing and scope details

  • Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and logistics when necessary

  • Assist in the preparation of value engineering proposals and project alternatives

  • Participate in pre-construction meetings and client presentations as needed

  • Support client relationships and represent the firm in early-stage conversations with prospective clients

  • Maintain and update subcontractor/vendor pricing databases

Profile

  • 3-7 years of experience in residential or interior construction estimating (luxury/high-end preferred)

  • Strong understanding of New York City construction methods, materials, and pricing

  • Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Buildertrend, Procore, Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, etc.)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable in client-facing settings

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities

  • Self-starter who thrives in a boutique firm environment with room to grow
