Accounting Manager

This Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the general ledger, monthly close, and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with GAAP and industry‑specific regulations, including excise taxes. The role partners closely with operations to manage inventory and cost accounting, maintain internal controls, and support audits.

Description

Oversee the general ledger and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes

Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations

Ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP

Manage inventory and cost accounting, including reconciling inventory accounts

Oversee compliance with industry regulations, including excise tax and related filings

Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes

Support external audits and coordinate audit requests and documentation

Partner with operations, finance, and leadership to support business initiatives

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and streamline accounting workflows

• Supervise or mentor junior accounting staff, as applicable

Profile

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within distribution, consumer products, or a regulated industry

Strong GAAP knowledge and general ledger expertise

Experience with inventory accounting and regulatory compliance

Proficiency in Excel and accounting/ERP systems

Detail‑oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple priorities
