Assistant Project Manager- Commercial Construction
An established commercial general contractor in Fort Lauderdale is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support ground-up and interior build projects across office, retail, and restaurant sectors. This role offers a defined growth path to Project Manager with hands-on mentorship and increasing project ownership.

Description
Assist the Project Manager in day-to-day coordination of commercial construction projects ranging from office spaces to retail and restaurant builds.
Support scheduling, subcontractor coordination, document control, RFI/submittal management, and progress tracking.
Participate in site walks, project meetings, and client updates to ensure smooth communication across stakeholders.
Review plans, specifications, and change orders while helping maintain project documentation and logs.
Contribute to procurement activities, vendor negotiations, and ensuring materials and equipment arrive on schedule.
Help ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and according to quality and safety standards.
Profile
1-4 years of experience in commercial construction, ideally with exposure to office, retail, or restaurant projects.
Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across field and office teams.
A self-starter eager to learn, take on responsibility, and grow into a Project Manager role.
Proficiency in construction management software (Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, or similar) is preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is a plus but not required if experience aligns.
