Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, managing complex accounting tasks, and supporting regulatory compliance and reporting. This individual will be a key contributor to the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and will help drive efficiencies and improvements in financial operations.

Description

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Analyze financial data and trends to support business decisions and identify areas for improvement.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external auditors during audits and regulatory examinations.
• Maintain general ledger integrity, ensuring accurate coding and classification of transactions.
• Assist in preparation of regulatory filings (e.g., SEC, FINRA, SOX compliance), as required.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Tax, and Treasury teams to ensure accurate reporting and alignment across functions.
• Continuously assess and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Support implementation of new accounting standards, systems, or tools.
• Mentor junior accountants and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree a plus).
• CPA certification required (or in progress).
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the financial services industry (e.g., banking, asset management, private equity, or insurance).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP; knowledge of IFRS and regulatory reporting a plus.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
