Description
The Process Design Engineer - Chemical Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:
- Design and develop chemical process systems for new and existing production lines.
- Perform process simulations, material and energy balances, and equipment sizing.
- Prepare detailed process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement process safety measures (HAZOP, LOPA).
- Support commissioning, start-up, and troubleshooting of process systems.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Profile
The ideal Process Design Engineer - Chemical Manufacturing will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in process design within chemical or related manufacturing industries.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of chemical process equipment and design standards.
- Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with scale-up from lab to production.
- Knowledge of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and reaction engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward certification.
