Quality Engineer | Manufacturing
Client Details

Quality Planning & Documentation
- Develop, approve, and implement quality plans, inspection methods, and work instructions.
- Create and refine sampling strategies, standard work, first‑article inspection plans, and related documentation.
- Support tooling and gaging concepts to ensure measurement capability aligns with product requirements.
Metrology & Measurement Systems
- Design and develop inspection fixtures, gages, and measurement tools.
- Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) using PC‑DMIS or related software (training may be available).
- Assist in evaluating and implementing automated measurement systems and digital data‑collection tools.
Nonconformance Management
- Partner with production and engineering to evaluate, disposition, and document nonconforming material.
- Work with customer‑facing teams to submit nonconformance requests or deviation approvals when appropriate.
- Support structured root‑cause analysis and corrective/preventive action processes.
Training & Staff Development
- Provide guidance to inspectors, operators, and engineers to ensure compliance with specifications and customer standards.
- Deliver training, coaching, and mentoring to strengthen quality and inspection competencies across the team.
Continuous Improvement & Quality Systems
- Identify quality‑related improvement opportunities and support implementation of corrective actions.
- Participate in or lead internal audits, supplier corrective actions, CAPA initiatives, and related quality management system activities.
- Contribute to internal initiatives related to complaints, supplier performance, audit readiness, and management review.
Preventive Action & First‑Time Quality
- Provide technical guidance for PPAP, PFMEA, and related preventive‑quality requirements.
- Support the deployment of SPC (Statistical Process Control) to improve process stability and early defect detection.
Profile
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 3 years of quality engineering or quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with specifications and standards used in regulated industries such as aerospace, defense, medical device, or similar.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality management systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Self‑motivated, able to work independently, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Understanding of SPC, root‑cause analysis, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience with or ability to learn CMM programming/operation.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience with gage R&R studies.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
