Senior Mechanical Design Engineer | Chicago, IL

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in designing and improving complex products for the life science industry. This position in Chicago offers the opportunity to innovate within a collaborative engineering and manufacturing environment. This role will be on-site 5 days a week at my client's downtown Chicago location.

Description

• Develop and design innovative products for the life science industry, ensuring functionality and quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product designs for manufacturability and cost-efficiency.
• Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for new and existing products.
• Evaluate materials and components to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Conduct prototype testing and analysis to enhance product performance.
• Provide technical support during the product life cycle, including troubleshooting and improvements.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements to incorporate best practices into product designs.

Profile

• A degree in engineering, product design, or a related field.
• 5+ years' experience designing products for manufacturing - prior experience working with in-house manufacturing is required.
• Strong experience designing finished products with multiple sub-components.
• Strong technical skills in 3D modeling and CAD software.
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
• A creative mindset with a focus on problem-solving and innovation.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Job Offer

• Base salary between $105,000 and $125,000, based on experience.
• Annual bonus incentive 5-10%.
