Compliance Testing Consultant

The consultant will be based in the Midtown office five days a week. They will be responsible for conducting continuous monitoring and testing to ensure the New York Branch maintains effective and sustainable compliance with all regulatory requirements, excluding Financial Crimes Compliance. Any instances of non-compliance must be promptly escalated.

Description

• Monitor and test controls related to regulatory and internal requirements within business-level procedures or policies, identifying any control weaknesses.

• Prepare detailed reports on control deficiencies, document findings, and track progress on remediation efforts.

• Ensure monitoring and testing results are well-documented, clearly communicated, and appropriately escalated.

• Assist in planning, executing, and reporting compliance assurance reviews and validating compliance or regulatory issues.

• Stay current with federal and state regulatory updates and support the development of formal compliance monitoring and testing policies, procedures, and documentation.

Profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher
• 2+ years within financial services, with exposure to compliance testing and/or compliance audit
• Fluency in Mandarin is a plus but not required
• Strong attention to detail is essential
• Knowledge of U.S. laws and regulations, particularly in a financial context, is necessary.
• Familiarity with corporate banking, financial institutions, and related products/services (e.g., Letters of Credit, Trade Finance, Clearing) is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams.
