Description
The Senior Superintendent - Top Southeastern GC - Columbia will be expected to:
- Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, setting milestones and deadlines. Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to align project objectives with client expectations.
- Site Management: Oversee daily construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices. Monitor quality control standards to meet project specifications while managing subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel.
- Budget and Cost Control: Track project costs and expenses to remain within budget. Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering solutions.
- Communication and Reporting: Maintain regular communication with project managers, clients, and stakeholders, providing project updates. Prepare and submit progress reports, daily logs, and incident reports while addressing any issues or conflicts that arise.
- Change Order Management: Evaluate and process change orders in collaboration with project managers and clients, ensuring all changes are documented, approved, and executed efficiently.
- Resource Management: Coordinate and manage labor, equipment, and materials allocation to ensure efficient project progress. Forecast resource needs and work with procurement for timely material deliveries.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure work meets project specifications and industry standards, conducting regular inspections and quality checks.
Profile
The ideal Senior Superintendent - Top Southeastern GC - Columbia should possess the following qualifications:
Project Planning and Scheduling
- Lead development and execution of project schedules, including phasing, sequencing, and critical milestones.
- Work with project managers and stakeholders to align construction plans with client goals.
- Monitor progress and adjust plans to keep projects on track.
Site and Field Leadership
- Oversee daily field operations across large or multiple projects, ensuring safe and efficient execution.
- Enforce safety standards and promote a strong jobsite safety culture.
- Manage and mentor superintendents and field staff.

Budget and Cost Control
- Track field costs, labor productivity, and material usage to stay within budget.

- Support value engineering and efficiency improvements.
Communication and Reporting
- Act as the main field point of contact for project teams, clients, and leadership.
- Provide clear updates on progress, risks, and key issues.
- Lead coordination meetings and resolve problems quickly.
Change and Risk Management
- Review and manage change orders, ensuring proper documentation and execution.
- Identify and address risks and field issues before they impact schedule or cost.
Resource Management
- Plan and coordinate labor, equipment, and materials across projects.
- Ensure resources are available when needed to avoid delays.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure all work meets project specifications, codes, and company standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and enforce quality control processes.
Leadership and Preconstruction Support
- Contribute to preconstruction planning, logistics, and scheduling strategy.
