Electrical Engineer - Maintenance - Charleston, SC
The Electrical Engineer will support the Maintenance Manager in scheduling resources and managing the maintenance, design, installation, and upgrades of automated and electrical systems throughout the facility, requiring strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. They will also assist in developing on-site electricians through training, coordination with external experts, and documentation support.

Description
You will report to the Maintenance Manager and be responsible for:
Demonstrating hands-on skills and working with modern PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Omron, Modicon) and Servo Motors/Motion Control
Troubleshooting custom electrical control equipment issues
Directing activities of technicians or co-op students
Generating technical reports and ideas to improve electrical control systems
Delivering written and oral presentations
Conducting equipment calibration and training personnel
Designing electrical controls and panels (UL508) independently (preferred)
Designing and coordinating fabrication of power and control systems
Documenting control designs, algorithms, and programs for easy understanding and servicing
Gathering and interpreting data to suggest operational solutions
Exercising judgment on work progress and recommending technical alternatives
Leading, planning, scheduling, and coordinating small project
Profile
A successful candidate will have
- Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent
- 3-5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- PLC, servo motor, and motion control familiarity
- Desire to go into management
- Familiarity working with technicians
- Troubleshooting and problem solving skills
