Senior Superintendent
As a Senior Superintendent, you will serve as the field-based leader of your assigned projects -ensuring superior construction quality and seamless execution of high-profile, detail-oriented commercial and institutional builds. You'll guide teams, manage on-site logistics, and uphold safety and client satisfaction, aligned with the company's culture of planning, collaboration, and excellence.

My client, a leading Philadelphia area GC, has been delivering fine-tuned, high-quality commercial, institutional, and light industrial construction projects across Southeastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware for over 30 years. The firm, proudly maintains a lean team of around 30-35 full-time professionals, plus a trusted network of skilled subcontractors, enabling flexible and efficient project staffing. Renowned for its reputation, they possess strong client relationships, fair pricing, and unwavering delivery on time-striving to exceed expectations through meticulous communication and planning.
Description
- Oversee all field operations, including coordination of subcontractors, trades, and site-based staff to maintain efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Act as the primary on-site representative to clients, architects, subcontractors, ensuring expectations are aligned and communication is proactive.
- Execute complex schedules and sequencing-anticipating issues and proactively resolving conflicts to stay on-time and within budget.
- Enforce rigorous safety and quality standards, ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal expectations.
- Collaborate with project managers and estimators during preconstruction and build phases for streamlined transitions.
- Be the face of the company on-site, embodying the values outlined by ownership -prioritizing client-focused relationships, 'family-like' treatment, and results-focused leadership
Profile
- A minimum of 10 years of on-site construction superintendent experience-preferably in commercial, institutional, or similar projects.
- Proven ability to manage projects typically ranging from $1 million to $6 million (and up to $30 million), especially those requiring sophisticated, custom solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of reading construction documents, coordinating subcontractors, and following CSI specifications.
- Strong scheduling, sequencing, cost-control, and safety compliance capabilities.
- Excellent oral and written communication, with an emphasis on cultivating client trust and satisfaction.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and inspire on-site teams; approach challenges with ingenuity and collaborative spirit.
