Junior Estimator

My client is a premier general contractor local to Manhattan, delivering some of NYC's most sophisticated private residences. They are seeking a Junior Estimator to support their preconstruction and estimating efforts for high-end interior projects across Manhattan. If you bring experience in residential interiors construction-either with a GC or painting subcontractor- they want to meet you.

Client Details

As a Junior Estimator, you will work directly with their estimating team to review drawings, assist in bid preparation, coordinate subcontractors, and support takeoffs for custom interior scopes. You'll gain hands-on exposure to detailed luxury residential projects in some of New York's most iconic buildings.

Description

As a Junior Estimator, you will be responsible for the following:

• Assist with quantity take-offs, scope sheets, and bid leveling

• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids

• Participate in drawing reviews and value engineering

• Help maintain pricing databases and vendor relationships

• Support Project Managers and Senior Estimators with project pricing and budgeting

• Learn and grow into managing full estimates independently

Profile

• 1-3 years with a high-end residential GC, preferably in Manhattan OR background with a painting or finishes subcontractor (residential interiors preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Familiarity with construction drawings, spec books, and takeoff tools

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar)

• Eagerness to grow in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment
