Industrial - Senior Process Engineer - Boston, MA
As a Senior Process Engineer, you will lead the design and optimization of complex industrial systems, develop process design packages, perform detailed analyses, and support commissioning and troubleshooting efforts. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on problem-solving to drive performance in large-scale process applications.

Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop industrial systems for pumping, filtration, mixing, storage, and membrane applications
- Create, update, and manage detailed process design packages including PFDs, P&IDs, and technical specifications
- Conduct comprehensive system and component-level process analyses such as mass balances, pump and heat exchanger sizing, and piping/tank calculations
- Perform both static and dynamic process simulations, including sensitivity and performance studies
- Assess and recommend technologies or design changes to enhance efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
- Define procedures for factory and site acceptance testing, and provide commissioning support as needed
- Develop component specifications (RFQs), evaluate parts, and coordinate with vendors for procurement
- Facilitate system hazard assessments, including FMEA, HAZOP, and other risk analysis methodologies
- Support investigations into system failures and contribute to root cause analysis efforts
- Train and guide team members, interns, customers, and contractors on technical processes and systems
Profile
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, with 5-8 years of relevant industry experience
- Preferred background in designing complex process and piping systems for capital-intensive projects
- Familiarity with large-scale industrial equipment, particularly in sectors such as oil & gas, chemical processing, or separation technologies
- Proven analytical and creative problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive approach to technical challenges
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate and evaluate complex ideas effectively
- Willingness to travel as needed, up to approximately 20%
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States
