Production Manager
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations within a precision metal‑forming and stamping environment. This role ensures the efficient production of high‑quality springs, stampings, machined components, and assemblies that support industries such as medical, aerospace, defense, transportation, and consumer products.

My client is a long‑established, privately held manufacturer specializing in precision springs, progressive stampings, fineblanked components, machined parts, and complex metal assemblies. Founded in 1939, it has grown into a reputable and internationally recognized supplier serving a broad range of high‑performance, highly regulated industries.
Description
The key responsibilities of the Production Manager will be:
- Direct and oversee production activities to ensure products meet customer specifications and regulatory requirements, including standards used in medical and aerospace manufacturing environments (e.g., ISO 13485 and AS9100).
- Manage workflow, staffing, scheduling, and equipment utilization to achieve daily output, quality, and delivery goals.
- Lead, coach, and develop production personnel at multiple skill levels, supporting a culture that emphasizes continuous training, professional development, and internal promotion.
- Model open communication and maintain an accessible leadership style aligned with the organization's open‑door culture
- Ensure strict attention to detail and high‑precision performance, consistent with the company's emphasis on craftsmanship, innovation, and outcome‑focused work.
- Support quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, statistical process control, and adherence to lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols and ensuring employees receive ongoing training on updated machinery, equipment, and methods.

Profile
The successful Production Manager will have:
- 5+ years of experience in production, metal forming, stamping, machining, or a similar manufacturing environment. Experience in regulated industries such as medical or aerospace is preferred.
- Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and team‑building skills aligned with a collaborative, fairness‑oriented culture.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles, quality engineering, SPC, and lean manufacturing tools (e.g., Kaizen, Kanban, SMED, 5S).
- Ability to thrive in a detail‑oriented, high‑precision, fast‑paced production environment.
- Familiarity with progressive stamping, fineblanking, machining, or spring manufacturing processes is highly desirable.
