Superintendent - Wastewater / Water Treatment - Southeast

Seeking a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent with heavy civil / water treatment plant construction experience. The ideal candidate is a driven, team-player interested in joining a smaller, personable General Contractor known for employee retention and limited Southeast project locations.

Client Details

This client is a well-established General Contractor with a strong reputation in the Southeast region including AR, LA, MS, and AL. They desire hard-working individuals with experience in wastewater and / or water treatment projects including site development, deep foundations, and other heavy concrete scopes. While utilities and mechanical aspects are a factor with these projects, concrete is their bread-and-butter.

This self-perform focused GC offer a wide range of construction planning and management services and are always committed to understanding their client's needs. They are smaller, with about 30 employees across two offices and projects spanning $20M - $80M in value. Their biggest selling point is the strong company culture and opportunity to provide above-market bonuses given the small amount of overhead and high demand for their services.

Description

The WWTP Superintendent will:

  • Oversee daily on-site operations for civil-focused construction projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and safety protocols.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and in-house crews to meet project milestones and maintain quality standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and client expectations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to plan and execute work effectively.
  • Resolve on-site challenges swiftly, including issues related to logistics, resources, and unforeseen obstacles.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, reports, and site logs.
  • Lead site meetings and provide clear communication to teams regarding project updates and priorities.

Profile

  • 5+ years of previous experience working with a Civil Contractor
  • Experience on water / wastewater projects
  • Willing to travel for work - projects across Southeast
  • Must have experience with new construction projects
  • Strong software and technology skills is a plus
  • Able to communicate and be organized
  • Time Management Skills - making sure everything is on time and completed thoroughly
  • Experience managing in-house labor teams
