Financial Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join a reputable financial services provider. This contract role offers the opportunity to contribute to accounting and finance operations in a fast-paced environment in New York.

Description

• Financial reporting and accounting.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making processes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and company accounting policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.
• Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks as required.

Profile

A successful Financial Accounting professional should have:

• Strong Excel skills, MS Suite
• Data mining or data analysis skills a plus.
• Alteryx or Power BI skills.
• A strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
