Accountant - Nutrition & Wellness Co - Skokie, IL
Our client is a growing leader in the Food & Beverage and Nutrition & Wellness space and is experiencing a rapid period of growth. Located near Skokie, IL, the client is looking to bring on a strong Accountant to join their team! As the Accountant, you will report directly into the Controller and assist in the month-end close processes. You will have full ownership of the Accounts Payable (AP) process and be able to learn and develop your skillsets in accounting.

Located near Skokie, IL, the client is looking to bring on a strong Accountant to join their team! As the Accountant, you will report directly into the Controller and assist in the month-end close processes. You will have full ownership of the Accounts Payable (AP) process and be able to learn and develop your skillsets in accounting.
Description
Accountant Responsibilities:
- Assist in producing monthly reports derived from data warehouses to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Contribute to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Demonstrate strong expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) processes and systems.
- Support the annual audit process by collaborating with external auditors.
- Oversee internal controls to protect company assets.
- Work with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and provide financial insights.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Engage in special projects and perform ad-hoc analyses as necessary.
- Cross-train and act as a backup for team members when required.
- Support the development and execution of a centralized accounting function to streamline processes and enhance efficiency across the organization.
- Ensure consistency and precision in financial reporting by standardizing accounting practices and procedures.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or a similar environment.
- Accounts Payable (AP) experience.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of GAAP.
- Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach.
