Description
- Enhance and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and regulatory requirements.
- Design and deliver SSC site-specific safety training programs (JHAs/JSAs, pre-task planning, fire prevention, GHS/SDS, and hazardous material handling).
- Support project teams by participating in handoff meetings to ensure safe execution.
- Improve and maintain safety records, reporting systems, and compliance platforms (ISN, Avetta, MSDS Online).
- Analyze incidents and hazards; lead investigations of near misses, accidents, and injuries to drive corrective actions.
- Strengthen safety communication through signage, barriers, and awareness initiatives.
- Coordinate DOT documentation, audits, drug screening, and regulatory reporting; support legal and insurance investigations.
- Develop safety materials for training, onboarding, and industry events; enhance New Hire Safety Orientation programs.
Profile
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with field teams, superintendents, project managers, and leadership.
- Establish and reinforce clear safety expectations and accountability across all job sites.
- Improve the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of safety training, toolbox talks, and new hire orientation.
- Reduce repeat incidents and near misses through proactive hazard recognition and intervention.
- Strengthen safety systems, documentation, and prequalification processes while keeping them practical and field-focused.
- Be recognized as a trusted partner and leader who enhances safety without slowing productivity.
