Construction- Estimator(Public Work)- Manhattan, NY

We're seeking a detail‑oriented Construction Estimator with strong public works experience to help price, plan, and win meaningful government-funded projects throughout Manhattan. Description

    • Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and bid proposals for public works construction projects.
    • Review drawings, specifications, and subcontractor pricing to ensure accurate and compliant bids.
    • Conduct subcontractor outreach, scope reviews, and competitive pricing comparisons.
    • Assist with value engineering options, budgeting exercises, and project turnover to the field team.
    • Stay current with NYC public-sector requirements, agency standards, and market pricing.
    • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and leadership to develop strong, well-supported bids.

Profile

A successful Estimator should have:

    • Experience estimating public works or government-funded construction projects in NYC (NYCHA, SCA, DDC, DASNY, etc. is a plus).
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to read drawings, understand scopes of work, and produce accurate quantities.
    • Highly organized, detail‑driven, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with subcontractors and internal teams.
    • Proactive and eager to contribute to a collaborative, fast-moving estimating department.
