Description

My client is seeking an experienced Superintendent with a background in multifamily, mixed-use, and/or senior living construction to lead projects in the Northern Virginia/D.C. area. This role involves overseeing field operations, maintaining safety standards, managing schedules, and ensuring quality across every phase of construction.

  • Lead all on-site construction activities from preconstruction through project completion
  • Oversee day-to-day field operations, including scheduling, coordination, safety enforcement, and quality control
  • Supervise, manage, and mentor subcontractors, foremen, and field staff to ensure productivity and accountability
  • Develop and maintain short-interval schedules and look-ahead plans in coordination with the master project schedule
  • Collaborate with project management team on RFIs, submittals, inspections, and material procurement
  • Conduct regular safety meetings, ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards, and enforce a clean, hazard-free site
  • Review and interpret construction documents, drawings, and specifications
  • Perform daily site walks to assess work progress, quality, and adherence to scope
  • Maintain daily field reports and documentation through Procore or other platforms
  • Coordinate and lead subcontractor progress meetings and trade coordination efforts

Profile

  • 5-10 years of construction supervision experience
  • Proven experience with multifamily, mixed-use, or senior living projects ($20M-$150M range)
  • Background in general contracting or builder-developer environments
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
  • Tech-savvy: proficient in MS Office, MS Project, Procore, and other construction management platforms
  • OSHA-30 certified
  • Strong tenure and growth trajectory in previous roles
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
