Project Engineer

The company is known as a full‑service contractor specializing in sitework, excavation, underground utilities, concrete, foundations, caissons, retaining walls, bridgework, and sound walls, with a strong reputation for safety and quality-driven field operations. They have developed a niche serving utilities, pharmaceutical, industrial, and commercial sectors, frequently supporting complex infrastructure and mission‑critical projects. Description
- Support planning and execution of sitework activities such as earthwork, grading, paving, and erosion control
- Coordinate installation of underground utilities including water, sanitary sewer, stormwater, and electrical conduits
- Review drawings, specifications, and utility plans to ensure constructability and compliance with design intent
- Assist with scheduling, sequencing, and logistics for site and utility operations
- Manage subcontractors and field crews, tracking daily progress and quantities
- Prepare RFIs, submittals, and as-built documentation related to sitework and utilities
- Perform quantity takeoffs and support cost tracking, change management, and pay applications
- Ensure work complies with safety standards, local codes, and environmental regulations
- Collaborate with superintendents, inspectors, and design teams to resolve field issues quickly

Profile
- Solid understanding of sitework operations, including grading, excavation, paving, erosion control, and underground utility installation
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, utility profiles, specifications, and survey data accurately
- Hands-on field awareness with the ability to anticipate constructability and sequencing challenges
- Strong organizational skills to manage schedules, quantities, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and as-built documentation
- Effective communicator who collaborates well with superintendents, subcontractors, inspectors, and design teams
- Proactive problem-solver who can identify issues early and drive timely resolutions in the field
- Knowledge of local codes, permitting processes, inspections, and utility coordination requirements
- Safety-focused mindset with a commitment to quality and compliance with project standards
- Eagerness to learn, take ownership of assigned scopes, and grow into increased responsibility within construction operations
