Description
Senior Estimator Responsibilities
- Lead the estimating process for complex commercial projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with company goals.
- Oversee and manage all project documentation, guaranteeing schedules and budgets are maintained while monitoring costs at a strategic level.
- Direct the preparation and review of as-built drawings, warranties, certificates of occupancy, and lien releases, ensuring completeness and compliance.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and timelines, allocating resources effectively to meet deadlines.
- Build and nurture key relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, supporting long-term business growth.
- Analyze historical data and trends to improve estimating accuracy and reduce variances between estimates and actual costs.
- Lead the process of obtaining, evaluating, and negotiating subcontractor bids, ensuring competitive pricing and quality.
- Prepare and present comprehensive estimate packages, highlighting assumptions, gaps, and risk factors for executive review.
- Ensure estimates meet the requirements of multiple delivery systems, and collaborate closely with project management teams for alignment.
- Provide guidance during post-bid buyouts, assisting in finalizing scopes and budgets.
- Represent the company in pre-bid meetings and presentations, strengthening relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Mentor junior estimators, providing training and oversight to maintain consistency and accuracy across the estimating team.
Profile
Ideal Candidate Profile - Senior Estimator
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field strongly preferred.
- 8-10+ years of commercial construction estimating experience, with a proven ability to lead complex bids and mentor junior estimators.
- Extensive experience with conceptual estimating, including early-stage budgeting and feasibility analysis.
- Strong knowledge of ground-up construction projects, from preconstruction through delivery.
- Advanced proficiency in estimating software and tools, with the ability to implement best practices and improve processes.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze historical data and market trends to enhance accuracy and competitiveness.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- A track record of strategic thinking and leadership, contributing to company growth and profitability.

- A competitive base salary between $120,000-$150,000 (Depending on Experience)
