Project Manager

Our client is a premier general contractor in Detroit, known for its commitment to quality, safety, and long-term client relationships. The company manages a diverse range of projects across the industrial and commercial sectors. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a proven ability to manage complex construction projects from start to finish, and a willingness to travel as needed.

Client Details

Our client is a well-established and highly respected general contractor based in the Detroit market. Known for delivering high-quality work across a diverse portfolio, they specialize in both industrial and commercial construction projects. As they continue to grow, they are looking to add a Project Manager to their team-someone with experience in both business development and estimating-to help drive projects forward and play a key role in managing their strong pipeline of upcoming work.

Description

Key Responsibilities of the Project Manager

  • Work with the client from the start of each project to ensure you understand the project scope and vision.
  • Prepare scope documents per trade and include scope and project-specific information.
  • Oversee the beginning of each turn-key project, including details like permit submission and design evaluations
  • Reviews project proposal, drawings, and plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project
  • Collaborate with the architect and construction crew to ensure the feasibility of each project
  • Conduct meetings on-site with the architect, client, and construction crew
  • Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Willing to travel

Profile

Successful Senior Project Manager

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Project Manager or someone who's looking to take the steps into project management
  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related area of study is preferred
  • Significant and Diverse project experience with a light industrial or commercial focus
  • Ability to run projects from conception to completion
  • Exposure to Estimating and Business Development
  • Effective Communication Skills
  • Working knowledge of commercial construction technology and details
  • Strong Personal Drive to take on several challenges and grow professionally
  • Willing to travel
