Quality Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer with a strong background in electrical engineering and experience in electro-mechanical industrial products. The ideal candidate will design and implement new test systems for electronic production testing, maintain and improve existing systems, and collaborate with inspectors and technicians to ensure product quality.

Description

My client can offer the following for the Quality Engineer:

• Collaborate with R&D during new product development to plan inspection processes and proactively address potential quality issues.
• Source and integrate equipment for testing and analyzing electronic assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Design and implement custom applications to automate and/or control inspection processes.
• Monitor and maintain the integrity of all electrical test systems; troubleshoot and resolve performance issues.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation to support quality control for new and existing products.
• Lead or contribute to Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) initiatives.
• Partner with manufacturing engineering to develop preventive action plans addressing electronic product nonconformities.
• Partner with suppliers in resolving electronic product quality concerns.
• Provide technical guidance to technicians for rework of assemblies, maintenance of test equipment, and implementation of new testing solutions.
• Support ISO documentation and ensure compliance with outside certification agencies.
• Assist UL and CSA auditors during unannounced audits.

Profile

The successful Quality Engineer will have the following:

• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience in creating applications in LabVIEW, Python, and similar programming languages.
• Test system design and validation experience.
• Experience with Arduino, PLCs, and Embedded Controllers.
• Experience working with oscilloscopes and multimeters and possessing some basic soldering skills.
• Experience troubleshooting electronic assemblies and equipment.
• Ability to multi-task and a desire to work in a 'hands-on' environment.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external customers.
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the company's mission.
• Effective in a team environment as well as performing assignments individually.
