Maintenance Manager - Electrical - Charleston, SC
The Maintenance Manager directs daily operations to ensure optimal performance of both the department and the manufacturing plant, with a strong focus on electrical systems and controls. This role blends hands-on troubleshooting with strategic oversight, emphasizing electrical engineering expertise to drive reliability and efficiency across all production equipment.

My client, just 30 minutes North of Charleston, develops specialized materials used in a variety of industrial applications, including aerospace and manufacturing. Operating internationally, it emphasizes innovation and high-performance solutions to meet complex technical needs.
Description
You will report to the Plant Manager and be responsible for:
Leading/facilitating Maintenance meetings
Driving Lean, TPM, and 5S improvements in the department
Monitoring WIP, SPI, raw materials, and spare parts
Establishing schedules and manpower, addressing shortfalls, and implementing RTG actions
Reviewing Supervisors' standard work
Coordinating with departments to improve throughput
Approving requisitions and managing department budgets
Maintaining visual control of CI boards
Overseeing and improving Preventative Maintenance and Calibration programs
Providing oversight of all purchasing activities
Managing Stockroom, Maintenance, and Purchasing Coordinator personnel

Driving employee engagement initiatives:
Approving merit increases
Conducting performance evaluations
Initiating employee recognition
Monitoring and evaluating training needs
Profile
A successful candidate will have
- Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent
- 3-5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- PLC, servo motor, and motion control familiarity
- Desire to go into management
- Familiarity working with technicians
- Troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Job Offer

- Electrical Bachelor's or equivalent experience preferred
- Preventative maintenance experience
- Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
