Construction Constroller
An experienced Construction Controller will be able to provide comprehensive construction financial management for all aspects of a national commercial design build contractor. The Controller must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals to achieve the best results.

Description
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, job cost accounting, payroll, and cash flow management.
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors, equipment vendors and material suppliers.
- Develop and maintain internal accounting controls and a financial reporting system.
- Review and report on construction Job Costing, WIP schedules and subcontract accounting.
- Minimize construction risk using surety bonds, lien waivers, general liability, workers' compensation and builders risk insurance.
- Create and manage budgets, perform financial forecasting and analysis.
- Produce monthly financial statements, coordinate quarterly accounting reviews, annual audits, and tax returns.
- Maintain state registrations, business, and tax licenses.
- Handle multistate scenarios including revenue allocation, sales taxes, and employment issues.
- Participate in strategic planning with senior management, perform due diligence, and create financial projections.
- Participate in construction project financial reviews and identify potential financial problems, presenting creative solutions.
- Coordinate with an outside accounting firm to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial and tax reporting.
- A knowledge of Agreements with Owner, AIA Contracts, etc. The ability to review contractual issues and assist in final contract negotiations.
- Review post award subcontract document agreements and assist in final subcontract negotiation.
- Manage human resource aspects including best employment practices, retirement plan administration, and health and welfare plans.
- Manage annual healthcare plan renewal sourcing, evaluation and negotiation.
- Help develop new business and opportunities.

Profile
A Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance with 10 + years experience in commercial construction.
In-depth understanding of project management principles and construction accounting including job costing and percentage-of-completion accounting.
Strong presentation skills and the ability to represent the company confidently to clients, senior management and board of directors.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to address difficult issues with effective solutions.
Proficiency in various computer programs, including Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, Blue Beam, Procore, Sage 100, Sage 300 and HH2.
Ability to manage several complex projects concurrently.
