Operations Manager | Chemical Handling & Packaging Processes
You will overseec hemical handling and packaging operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, maintaining quality standards, and optimizing inventory management. You will be leading a team of 40-staff members.

Our Client primarily focuses on the manufacturing, packaging, and warehousing of specialty alcohols and solvents. The facility provides a wide selection of alcohol formulations, including different proofs, grades, and package sizes, catering to industries such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, food and beverage, and industrial applications.
Description
- Oversee the daily activities of the chemical handling and packaging functions to consistently achieve production goals and fulfill customer requirements.
- Supervise, coach, and motivate a workforce of approximately 30-40 employees to uphold performance and operational expectations.
- Provide hands-on training and ongoing guidance on safe work practices, packaging techniques, and proper chemical handling procedures.
- Build and reinforce a team-oriented environment that emphasizes ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all chemical handling and packaging activities comply with internal safety policies and operational standards through active supervision.
- Lead the execution and enforcement of safety programs, procedures, and controls across the operation.
- Perform routine safety assessments, audits, and educational sessions to proactively reduce hazards and promote a safe workplace.
- Verify that all packaged products meet established quality specifications and customer requirements.
- Analyze product nonconformities or quality deviations and drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Direct production planning and scheduling efforts to maintain adequate levels of raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished inventory while avoiding gaps or delays.
- Maintain accurate inventory control of raw chemicals, packaging components, and finished goods.
- Evaluate and enhance chemical processing and packaging workflows to improve efficiency, increase throughput, and minimize waste.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles and process improvement initiatives to lower costs and strengthen operational performance.
- Identify process constraints, resolve operational issues, and partner with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation related to production output, chemical handling, packaging activities, and regulatory or internal compliance.
- Compile and deliver routine performance reports covering production output, shipment timeliness, quality results, and safety performance.
- Leverage operational data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track trends, drive continuous improvement, and improve on-time delivery outcomes.
Profile
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a comparable technical discipline.
Operations Management Experience
- Minimum of five years of operational leadership experience in a manufacturing, chemical, or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing chemical handling, packaging operations, or related production activities.
- Proven track record of improving production efficiency through process optimization, line balancing, and workflow enhancements.
- Extensive hands-on experience working with flammable or hazardous materials while maintaining rigorous safety and regulatory compliance.
Job Offer
- Salary Range: $115,000 - $145,000
