Fractional Finance Consultant

A fast-growing beauty startup is seeking a Fractional Finance Consultant to help build and implement financial infrastructure ahead of its direct-to-consumer launch. This is a hands-on, strategic role ideal for someone with deep experience in indie beauty or consumer goods startups.

Client Details

The client is a beauty brand currently in the product development and infrastructure setup phase. With plans to launch DTC and expand into major retailers, the brand is focused on regulatory compliance, supply chain readiness, and digital integration.

Description

• Build foundational financial systems (budgeting, forecasting, P&L setup, margin analysis)
• Support Shopify integration with warehouse systems
• Advise on tax implications and net terms for national sales
• Establish operational checks and balances
• Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams
• Guide supply chain finance and inventory accounting
• Recommend and implement financial tracking/reporting tools
• Ensure infrastructure readiness for Q1/Q2 product launch

Profile

• 5+ years of finance/accounting experience in beauty or consumer goods startups
• Proven ability to build financial systems from scratch
• Expertise in supply chain finance, DTC models, and margin optimization
• Familiarity with Shopify, Excel, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar tools
• Independence, flexibility, and comfort in fast-paced environments
• East Coast availability preferred for team alignment

Job Offer

• Remote, part-time role (10-15 hours/week)
• Flexible hours with preference for EST availability
• Initial 2-4 week project with potential for ongoing fractional support
