Description

  • Manage the preconstruction phase of construction projects, ensuring accurate budgets and estimates.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and engineers to align project goals and expectations.
  • Develop and maintain preconstruction schedules and timelines.
  • Lead value engineering efforts to optimize project costs and resources.
  • Oversee bid solicitation and subcontractor selection processes.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the preconstruction team.
  • Ensure all preconstruction activities comply with company policies and industry standards.
  • Support the transition from preconstruction to construction phase to ensure seamless project execution.

Profile

A successful Director of Preconstruction should have:

  • Educational background in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in preconstruction processes, including budgeting and estimating.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, multi-million dollar preconstruction efforts across various sectors (e.g., healthcare, education, mixed-use, industrial).
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
