Our client is a national builder/developer of with an excellent reputation. They specialize in large-scale, new construction multifamily projects ranging from $100M to $200M+. With a growing presence in the Mid-Atlantic, they are looking to grow their team by bringing on a Finish Superintendent for a 300+ unit in the Richmond, VA area.
Description
The Finish Superintendent - Multifamily Projects - Richmond, VA will be responsible for:
- Overseeing all interior finish activities to ensure high-quality standards and timely completion.
- Coordinating with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain workflow and resolve issues.
- Managing daily jobsite operations related to drywall, painting, flooring, millwork, cabinetry, and punch list items.
- Inspecting finish work regularly to ensure adherence to project specifications, design documents, and code requirements.
- Scheduling subcontractors and sequencing interior trades to avoid delays and rework.
- Enforcing safety protocols and maintaining a clean, organized jobsite during finish phases.
- Tracking progress of interior scopes and updating project schedules accordingly.
- Communicating with ownership, architects, and design teams regarding finish selections and changes.
- Resolving conflicts between trades and ensuring smooth handoffs between rough-in and finish phases.
- Reviewing submittals and shop drawings for finish materials and ensuring timely delivery to site.
- Conducting quality control checks and generating punch lists to ensure final acceptance standards are met.
- Reporting progress and field conditions to the general superintendent and project manager.
- Supporting turnover efforts by managing final inspections, cleanings, and warranty walk-throughs.

Profile
The Finish Superintendent - Multifamily Projects - Richmond, VA will have:
- Minimum 5 years of experience supervising interior finishes on multifamily or residential construction projects
- Strong knowledge of interior construction sequencing, finish trades, and quality standards
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, finish schedules, and specifications
- Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms
- Solid understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to coordinate subcontractors and vendors
- Proven track record of managing schedules, budgets, and punch list completion
- High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering top-quality finishes
- Experience with turnover processes, final inspections, and project closeout
- Ability to problem-solve and make quick decisions in the field
- OSHA 30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple units or buildings simultaneously
Job Offer
The Finish Superintendent - Multifamily Projects - Richmond, VA will receive:
- A competitive base salary commensurate with experience
- 15-20% annual bonus
- Up to $125/month cell allowance
