Field Applications Engineer-Powertrain-Automotive(Michigan)

Client Details
Our client is a large company with several thousand employees. They are a well established market leader in power selling across all markets including Aerospace, Medical, Semiconductor, Battery, High Performance Computing, Industrial, Robotics and of course the sector this role will be in Automotive.
Description
- Build and maintain strong relationships with automotive clients to identify their needs and propose suitable solutions within the Power / Powertrain systems.
- Provide technical expertise and consultation to ensure product alignment with client requirements. Program Management between customer, and internal engineering team.
- Articulate complex power concepts, architectures, and jargon in a digestible way for clients.
- Develop and execute sales supporting strategies to achieve revenue targets within the automotive sector.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless project delivery and client satisfaction.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and reports to key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions in CRM systems.
Profile
- B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering.
- 5-8+ years in Application Engineering, Sales Engineering, Product Engineering or relevant role within the Power, Power Supply Design, Power Conversion world.
- 3-5 years of experience in power supply design, powertrain, DCDC converters and architectures.
- Powertrain, Chassis systems, inverters, auxiliary loads, battery, and on board chargers knowledge a huge plus.
- Knowledge of semiconductor automotive standards AECQ 100, IATF-16949 and PPAP a huge plus.
- A strong background in technical sales, program management, field applications and engineering particularly within the automotive industry.
- In-depth knowledge of industrial and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and internal teams.
- A results-driven mindset with the ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
- Proficiency in using CRM tools and other sales-related software.
- A degree in engineering, business, or a related field is preferred.
