General Superintendent | CA K-12 | Greater Sacramento
The General Superintendent in California K-12 construction oversees all field operations, ensuring school projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining compliance with DSA regulations. They manage and coordinate subcontractors, schedules, and quality control, while serving as the key field leader representing the contractor to the district and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities of a General Superintendent | CA K-12 | Greater Sacramento
- Field Leadership & Oversight - Direct and oversee all field operations on multiple school construction projects, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Schedule & Budget Management - Develop, maintain, and enforce project schedules while monitoring costs to meet budget and timeline requirements.
- Compliance & Safety - Ensure adherence to DSA (Division of the State Architect) regulations, building codes, and site-specific safety protocols.
- Subcontractor & Workforce Coordination - Manage subcontractors, trade partners, and field crews to ensure productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Quality Control - Oversee installation and construction methods to meet specifications and district standards.
- Stakeholder Communication - Serve as the primary field contact for school districts, architects, inspectors, and project managers, resolving issues proactively.
- Resource Planning - Allocate manpower, equipment, and materials across sites to maximize efficiency.
- Mentorship & Team Development - Lead, mentor, and support project superintendents, foremen, and field staff.
Profile
A Successful General Superintendent | CA K-12 | Greater Sacramento
- 12+ years of experience in commercial construction.
- Extensive K-12/DSA Experience - Proven track record delivering school projects under DSA oversight, with a strong understanding of code compliance and inspections.
- Leadership Skills - Ability to lead large field teams, mentor superintendents/foremen, and foster collaboration among subcontractors and district stakeholders.
- Project Delivery Expertise - Demonstrated success managing schedules, budgets, and quality on complex, multi-phase school projects.
- Strong Communication - Skilled at building trust and maintaining clear communication with school districts, inspectors, architects, and internal teams.
- Safety & Quality Focus - Commitment to a strong safety culture and maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Adaptability & Problem-Solving - Able to anticipate challenges (e.g., phasing around active campuses) and implement solutions quickly and effectively.
Job Offer

- $190,000 - $220,000 base DOE
