Civil Estimator
A civil estimator specializing in site work and utilities focuses on preparing accurate cost estimates for earthwork, grading, excavation, stormwater systems, water and sewer lines, and related infrastructure. Client Details
Our client is a full-service heavy and civil construction company based in New Jersey, founded over 100 years ago. The company provides a wide range of infrastructure services, including highway and bridge construction, rock excavation, pile driving, demolition, water main cleaning and lining, tunneling, and utility installations such as fiber-optic cable and underground transmission lines for electric, gas, water, and communication systems. It serves governmental agencies, developers, utilities, and private clients.
Description
- Review Project Plans & Specifications: Analyze drawings and documents for site work and utility requirements.
- Assess Site Conditions: Evaluate soil, grading, drainage, and existing infrastructure impacts.
- Prepare Cost Estimates: Calculate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs for earthwork, stormwater systems, water/sewer lines, and related utilities.
- Quantity Takeoffs: Measure and quantify excavation, pipe lengths, and other components accurately.
- Risk Analysis: Identify potential challenges such as soil conditions, utility conflicts, and environmental regulations.
- Bid Preparation: Compile estimates into competitive proposals for clients or general contractors.
- Coordination: Work with engineers, project managers, and suppliers to validate costs and timelines.
- Compliance: Ensure estimates meet local codes, safety standards, and project specifications.
